We all know how dynamic the beauty trend is; just like in fashion, anything that’s causing the buzz becomes the ‘It’ thing and then unexpectedly it fades while making space for the new trend to step in. And keeping up with the current trend, what are the things that you can expect in beauty, that’s generating a buzz?
1 - Beauty Regimes Will Get Minimized
I guess what we learned from Marie Kondo applied in our beauty routine. Compared with the laborious 10-step skin care routine from Korea, a more streamline approach takes over in taking care of our skin. Even with less number of products are used, each product contains a higher concentration of key ingredients (and possibly target a few issues in one go) for quick and effective results. Plus, the ingredients is chosen in such way that the whole formula works for both our beauty and health - anything that’s beneficial and healing for our body, is also appealing for our skin. Consumers today are more aware the effects of what we put in our body (both good and bad stuff) that it shows up on our skin, and find ways to repair and heal anything that’s wrong on us (think acne scars and eczema). 2 - Diversity In Beauty Products Unlike before when beauty market was dominated by industry giants, the last few years have seen a big shift as users switching from mainstream brands to less well-known ones, or perhaps a product line created by influencers that they follow religiously on Instagram. Which means, not long ago anything that comes with ‘created for Asian skin’ sounds unique, independent beauty brands nowadays use an all-inclusive approach that caters to a wider color range and skin issues exists, as well as skin care products that are locally-made with regional ingredients, unique formula, and created for specific niches, that consumers have lots of options to choose from.
3. Sustainability As One Of The Basis Of The Brand
The green movement that started from the last decade is surely making a profound impact to the current generation; brands that ‘goes green’ that uses all-natural products - and beaing transparent about it - garners deep interest among consumers. And this ranges from product design and formula, packaging and biodegradability, to sourcing natural ingredients in a sustainable way that the whole process from product development to consumer doesn’t affect the Mother Earth in a bad way, as shown as brands such as The Body Shop, Burt’s Bees, and Neal’s Yard. 4. Facial Tools Will Be More High Tech Than Ever Ever notice that skin care supplementation tools just get hi-techy and chic? People are taking their skin care routine more seriously than ever, and that includes investing in some tools to boost the effectiveness of their products (as well as minimizing the waste). You don’t have to go as far as Clarisonic, even simple ones (yet works wonderfully) like jade rollers, gua sha, and derma rollers are gaining popularity. from JOANNA LIFE AND STYLE - Journal http://www.joannalifeandstyle.com/journal/topfourbeautytrends from https://joannastylelife.tumblr.com/post/184556300370
